True Nature 1, 2017 60 x 36 inches Series: The Dot Since I was a child I have at times felt overwhelmed by the thought of how small I am compared to what surrounds me. When I see the immense ocean, the colossal mountains, the endless sky, I cannot help it but feel minuscule. I am unable to relate to the magnitude and the complexities, and I think it is impossible for the human eye to see all that is. Human scale and our presence in the universe are of either the greatest importance, or perhaps none at all, and these paintings reflect my uncertainty.
